Cross Eyed Clyde is an innovative approach to synthesizing technology with the energy and emotion of a live band.

    I have been entertaining live audiences around the world for decades, from playing with Roy Clark and my award-winning band “Nightwing” in the 1980s to leading the US Navy rock band Pride and performing with Jacksonville jazz legend Teddy Washington in the 2000s.

    When the pandemic hit, live music ceased. To satisfy my need to perform, I recorded myself on drums, bass and keyboards, and performed the guitar, flugelhorn and lead vocal live. But, like other “music minus one” set ups, it felt like karaoke, not a live band. So, I changed the set up; Put the drums through their own stereo sound system like a drummer with an electronic set and the bass and keyboards through their own amps just like live musicians would. The result was magic, like being on stage with a live band! All the raw energy and excitement was there.

    Performing out required a second person to run the technology for a smooth, seamless show, so I enlisted Hannah, who also adds backing vocals.
