How It All Started

Cross Eyed Clyde is an innovative approach to synthesizing the energy and emotion of a live band with modern technology.

I have been entertaining audiences around the world for decades; from playing with Roy Clark and my award-winning band “Nightwing” in the 1980s to leading the US Navy rock band Pride and performing with Jacksonville jazz legend Teddy Washington in the 2000s.

But when the pandemic hit, live music ceased. I needed to play, so I recorded myself on drums, bass and keyboards, performing the guitar, flugelhorn and lead vocal live. But, like other “music minus one” set ups, it felt like karaoke, not a live band. So I analyzed what made a live band sound like a live band, the psychoacoustics of rock and roll. After experimenting with various set ups and equipment, I finally came up with the right formula. This required a second performer to run the technology. The result was magic; the raw energy, sound and excitement of a full live band.

With a huge, diverse song list including classic rock, country, blues, Motown and more, we can provide the right mix to please any crowd. Creating the impact of a 5-piece band with only two performers also makes Cross Eyed Clyde the best performance value in the market. Make your next special event a memorable one by adding the energy and visual appeal of a live band with Cross Eyed Clyde.
